STEINWAY REKINDLES A LIFELONG BOND FORGED AT CURTIS INSTITUTE “He has been my teacher, mentor and friend for the second half of my life, guiding me personally and professionally through the warmth in his heart. He has made me a better human, not just a better musician,” she says. For the occasion of Graffman’s 90th birthday, student and teacher reunited at the Steinway factory in December 2018 to select Model D 610082 and celebrate his continuing legacy. The Curtis Institute has been an All Steinway school since its founding in 1924.
