With its recent purchase of exclusively Steinway and Steinway-Designed Boston pianos, The College of New Jersey joins an illustrious list of All-Steinway Schools. Now, College faculty and students will learn, practice and perform only on pianos designed by the world-famous Steinway & Sons whose instruments are the piano of choice for serious musicians worldwide. The completion of the College’s All-Steinway campaign was celebrated at the Mildred & Ernest E. Mayo Concert Hall at The College of New Jersey with a performance of Mozart, Brahms, Schumann and Chopin by renowned Steinway Artist, Jon Nakamatsu, who said, “Becoming an All-Steinway School demonstrates TCNJ’s commitment to arts education. I am so pleased to be associated with such a noteworthy endeavor.”

As shown in the accompanying photo, John C. Laughton, Dean, TCNJ School of the Arts and Communication was presented with a symbolic plaque officially designating The College of New Jersey as an All-Steinway School. The presentation was made on behalf of Steinway & Sons by Jacobs Music Company’s Robert A. Rinaldi, Senior Vice President, and Gabrielle Kazze Rinaldi, Executive Vice President. Additional photos show pianist, Jon Nakamatsu addressing the audience and congratulating TCNJ on its All-Steinway status and the artist after the concert with Dean Laughton; Randy Brown, Manager of the Jacobs Music Lawrenceville location; Gabrielle Rinaldi and Bob Rinaldi.

The College is one of thirteen institutions of higher learning in the Philadelphia area to achieve the All-Steinway designation. This impressive designation signifies the College’s dedication to musical excellence and entrance into the select worldwide group of All-Steinway colleges, conservatories and music schools.
